The world of cryptocurrency investment products saw a significant shift last week, with spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) emerging as the market leaders. These funds drew $1.1 billion in inflows, which is the largest amount of assets under management (AUM) since early 2022, according to a recent Coinshares report.
Spot Bitcoin ETFs are king with $1.1 billion in inflows, according to a Coinshares report.
The market for digital asset investments has seen a notable upswing, with spot bitcoin ETFs dominating the US market. In addition to dominating last week’s inflows, the newly released investment products also contributed to a year-to-date influx totaling $2.7 billion, according to the analysis written by Coinshares’ analyst James Butterfill.
Regionally, the research notes, attention has focused more on the United States, where net inflows into spot-based bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have increased by $1.1 billion since their inception on January 11th, totaling $2.8 billion. Weekly figures for the previous week showed that the two most substantial inflows were made into IBIT and FBTC.
IBIT and FBTC own more than three-quarters of the more than 208,000 BTC held, making them the organization with the greatest BTC reserves, according to research by Bitcoin.com News. Although bitcoin (BTC) has received the majority of inflows, other cryptocurrencies such as ethereum (ETH) and cardano (ADA) have also profited from the upbeat atmosphere in the market. $16 million and $6 million, respectively, were invested in Ethereum and Cardano.
Minor inflows were seen in Avalanche ($0.5 million), Polygon ($0.4 million), and Tron ($0.4 million). The research also reveals a slowdown in outflows from other areas, with small outflows reported in Germany ($10M) and Canada ($17M), in contrast to significant inflows in Switzerland ($35M). An intricate picture of the worldwide cryptocurrency investment scene is provided by the regional distribution of inflows and outflows.
